ECi® Trims Cylinder Weight:
New TITAN® EXP™ Parallel Valve Cylinder Features a Tapered-Fin Barrel

San Antonio, TX, March 30, 2006 – ECi® trims the cylinder weight with the innovative TITAN® (ECi Xperimental Products) EXP™ Cylinders, improving the original cylinder design with a stream-lined, tapered-fin barrel and Venturi intake valve seats.
Easily visible on the TITAN EXP cylinder, the tapered fin barrel reduces cylinder weight by ¾ pound while still providing proper cooling. This 5% reduction of overall cylinder weight improves fuel efficiency and aircraft performance. The new venturi intake seats improve intake flow 7% at the initial valve opening, which allows a larger fuel/air charge into to the cylinder during the intake stroke, resulting in more power. The upper spark plug boss can be machined as a 14mm for installation of experimental electronic ignition systems.
Created specifically for the experimental aircraft market, the TITAN EXP line of ECi EXP parts now offers the parallel valve series cylinders. Exclusive diamond features include: Nickel+Carbide™ cylinder bores, valve guide ballizing, TITAN Advanced Aluminum Alloy, high chrome ni-resist exhaust valve guides, plasma-sprayed top compression ring and a plateau bore finish.
