ISO 9001:2000 General Information
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has prepared the ISO 9001:2000 international standard to define the requirements for a quality management system. The requirements are aimed at achieving customer satisfaction by preventing nonconformity throughout the entire process. The better we understand how we do business, the better we will serve our customers’ needs.

ECi has established and maintains an effective Quality Management System (QMS) based on the ISO 9001:2000 international standard. We believe that it is through a well documented QMS that we can satisfy our mission of exceeding our customers’ expectations. Our QMS will help us achieve consistency in our processes, reduce costs, and increase customer confidence in our products and services.

ECi prepared a Quality Policy Manual that describes our policies regarding the 8 categories of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. Next, we have documented our existing processes with procedures, flow charts, checklists and work/job instructions to describe our daily operations. ECi also created quality records to demonstrate that we operate a productive QMS. We have kept the documents simple and user-friendly so they can be informative and useful. Our plan is to continuously improve the QMS through on-going employee training, corrective and preventive actions (CPAR), internal auditing, and management reviews.

Audits are planned, independent, and documented assessments determining that agreed-upon requirements are met. ECi conducts internal audits with employees and schedules external audits conducted by BVQI, a well-recognized ISO Registration Certification firm. Passing the external audits permit us to continue to promote that we are an ISO 9001:2000 registered company.

Scope of ISO’s Quality Management Systems (QMS)

The scope of QMS demonstrates ECi’s ability to consistently provide product that meets customers’ and regulatory requirements. It also aims to enhance customers’ satisfaction through effective applications of the system – including processes for continual improvement.
ECi’s QMS is a comprehensive system that applies to both our repair activities and manufacturing operations conducted at our San Antonio facilities. It includes design, development, production, material control and testing of piston engine components.
